EFFECT OF DIFFERENT DYEING VARIABLES ON PERCENT DYE EXHAUSTION OF WOOL DYED WITH NATURAL DYE : LAC

摘要

From the results of percent dye exhaustion at different variables, it was observed that optimum conditions for dyeing of wool with lac dye were 1 hour dyeing time, 90℃ temp, pH 3-4, Glauber's salt cone. 5%-20% according to dye shade. Lac dye being acidic in nature, its absorption was affected mainly by concentration and nature of acid, concentration of electrolytes and temperature.
