GDP growth at two year low at 6.1%

A dismal show by manufacturing, mining and farm sectors pulled down the country's GDP growth to 6.1 per cent in the third quarter of the current fiscal (October-December 2011), the lowest in more than two years, causing concern in official quarters and corporate India alike. The GDP growth in the third quarter (October-December) last fiscal was 8.3 per cent, according to official data released here today.
