Using Confocal Raman Microscopy to Determine the Structure and Orientation of the PET Interior of PET/PP Core/Shell Fibers

Confocal Raman microspectroscopy is capable of measuring the denity and birefringence of the poly )ethylene terephthalate) (PET) core of a PET/polypropylene core/shell fiber. Sample preparation is simple and data collection times are short. This technique should prove valuable in furthering the development of bicomponent fibers.
