Image Analysis of Composite Yarn Cross Sections

摘要

This work discusses the aplication of computer image analysis to study cross sections of polyester filment/rayon staple fiber composite yarns. it attempts to quantify the distribution of dispersed filmaents in images of cross sections obtained with a scanning electron microscope and analyzed by computer algorithms. This work also defines parameters such as radial and lateral distribution indices and aggregation and normalized indices for quantifying the composite yarn cross sections. The results reveal that computer image analysis and manual analysis systems provide nearly identical results.
