摘要

This paper is the second part of anseries reporting the recent development of a computerizednmethod for the automatic measurementnand recognition of yarn wet snarls from an imagenof snarled yarn samples captured in a water bath.nIn our earlier work, a digital image-signal approachnfor fully computerized yarn-snarl measurementnwas developed and the effects of various influencingnfactors on the recognition algorithms werennumerically examined. In this paper, the feasibilitynand accuracy of the fully computerized methodnon the measurement of actual yarn wet snarls arenevaluated through laboratory experiments. Onenhundred percent cotton ring spun single yarns ofn7, 10, 16, and 20 Ne are prepared and used for thenevaluation. In addition to the number of snarlnturns per unit length, the snarl height and widthnof the yarn samples are also objectively measurednby using the computerized method. The measurementnresults obtained by the computerizednmethod are analyzed and compared with thosenmeasured manually by using a twist tester and anninteractive computer method.
