Stenter manufacture alone would make Germany a redoubtable force in the world of textile finishing machinery. As well as the Big Three of Monforts, Babcock and Bruckner, there is also Krantz (now, like Babcock, part of the Moenus Group) and, in the eastern city of Gera, the emerging Stentex company, jointly owned by the Swiss firms of Benninger and Santex.
