Genencor acquired the conventional low temperature amyiase from DSM in 1995 and continues to invest in and introduce new amylases for desizing to meet the needs of textile mills, dyehouses and garment wet processors. Since the late 1980s there has been a consistent and growing trend towards using less purnice stones and more enzymes for denim finishing. A wider variety of fashionable looks can be achieved by using different cellulases in combination with chemical auxiliaries and unique processes.
