Open-end yarns are well known for their highly uniform strength and appearance. Possible yarn faults are normally cut out by yarn clearers and replaced by robotic piecers in automatic rotor spinning machines, responsible for the only remaiming intrusive irregularities in the yarn. Rieter's latest R 40 rotor spinning machine is equipped with the new AEROpiecing piecer technology which is able to make piecers which are practically invisible to the eye, and remain so during subsequent treatment of the yarn.
