Acquisition saves 120 UK jobs at Cobble

Cobble Blackburn, which produces tufting machines that are used by carpet manufacturers throughout the world, has been acquired in a pre-pack administration deal that will save 120 UK jobs and safeguard the future of the business. Fiona Rae and Chris Wood of Clough Corporate Solutions, which is part of chartered accountancy firm Clough & Company with offices in Manchester and West Yorkshire, who are acting as joint administrators, completed the deal to sell the Blackburn firm's assets, intellectual property and order books to Belgium based Michel Van de Wiele. Stephen Newman of Baxter Caulfield in Huddersfield advised the joint administrators in relation to the sale.
