摘要

The decision few were expecting was announced last month, as the British public voted to leave the EU - and views across the textile, fashion and manufacturing industries are united in their call for new trade agreements to be negotiated as the exit process begins. The emphasis on safeguarding trade deals comes amid confusion and uncertainty about what lies in store for not only the UK textile industry, but also the whole country. Adam Mansell, CEO of the UK Fashion & Textile Association (UKFT), says: "The EU is a substantial market for the UK fashion and textile industry, and a significant supply source of raw materials. It is currently impossible to predict the long-term impact of the referendum vote to leave the EU.
