The digital textile printing industry seems to be on a roll. Mergers and acquisitions have taken place and new platforms and integrations have seen the light of day. Among these changes, new technologies, new print heads, new inks and new systems have been developed. And, in publications (such as WTiN’s Digital Textile) we read about the annual growth rates, with surveys showing a constant interest in the marketplace - particularly the expansion of digital textile printing workflows to grow revenue streams. As examples of the changing market, digital printing OEM Kornit Digital launched its Presto roll-to-roll printer as a replacement for its Allegro system; HP released its Stitch series focusing on direct and transfer sublimation; besides the unique Hollanders double-sided textile printer, alternatives by Atexco and Skyjet are on offer; Mouvent showcased its latest series at ITMA; Zimmer Austria brought a pigment version of its Colaris printer to market; and both MS and SPGPrints are pushing their respective ‘smaller’ versions of the LaRio and Pike as scanning devices in the form of the Mini Lario and the Javelin. In the landscape of textile printers, Durst, EFI, Mimaki and others are also positioning themselves with options to choose from.
