UK manufacturers pushed to implement digital transformation

PwC, one of the largest professional services firms in the world, is supporting the Industry 4.0 Summit & Expo, a UK event for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and called for an increased adoption of digital technologies in the country’s manufacturing sector. Launched in 2017 and held annually in Manchester, UK, the Industry 4.0 Summit & Expo covers the latest technologies, solutions and strategies able to make manufacturing smarter. Comprising a high-level conference with a trade show alongside, the event “attracts many C-Suite attendees across the UK manufacturing spectrum”, as well as government, academia and trade associations, all interested in developing their digital strategies. Darren Jukes, PwC’s UK industrial manufacturing and services leader, explains that UK manufacturers must adapt to change and swiftly embrace the challenges and opportunities that digital transformation can bring if they are to grow their competitive advantage against nations that have proved more digitally agile in recent years.
