It is impossible to imagine present-day production process sequences without compressed air. It is not just a matter of producing a certain quantity of compressed air but of conforming to the defined purity criteria. Oil present in the compressed air mixes with the compressor condensate and other dirt to form an unwanted abrasive sludge. This abrasive sludge, often acidic in nature, rapidly wears pneumatic machinery, valves, etc., causing frequent maintenance breakdowns and costly air leakages. It corrodes the piping system and brings your production process to an extremely expensive standstill. That is the reason why most of the application demands nearly 100 per cent oil-free air.
