Doubling twist variation mars solid appearance of polyester viscose blended suiting — A case study

Polyester viscose blended suiting fabrics in various blends, made out of TFO doubled yarns, normally piece dyed with plain weave, are extensively used as uniform making material. Coarse doubled yarns, piece dyeing, heat setting and singing, etc., make these sorts venerable to physically visible defects which mars the required general appearance and smooth appearance of the fabric, a desirable quality for uniform fabrics. Amongst various factors affecting this quality, doubling twisting variation is found to be a hidden and comparatively ignored one. However, this case study conducted during defect analysis of a said suiting sample submitted to the Textiles Committee, Hyderabad, by a reputed suiting manufacturer proved the gravity of this factor.
