India emerges top market for Picanol

Though recession-hit since last few months, the Indian textile industry contributed significantly for the Belgium-based weaving machinery giant Picanol's overall sales in 2008. That way the year proved most promising for the company as far as sales in India were concerned. In an exclusive interview to The Textile Magazine, Mr. P. Kasiviswanathan, Head of Indian Operations, Picanol India Pvt. Ltd., said ever since Picanol set up its own subsidiary in India in January last, the company has been able to move forward with redoubled vigour. All the three offices in India have become fully functional, and the staff strength, including sales and service personnel, has gone up to 30.
