Man-made fibers recently introduced to the market have high innovation potential. They are marketed by the textile sector in products with new types of product characteristics, .characteristic combinations and fashion highlights. Solvent-spun cellulose fibers, produced by environmental-friendly methods, arc increasingly on offer throughout the world under the generic name lyocell fiber. Today, solvent-spun staple fibers have already been introduced to the market and are becoming successfully established in various products, but cellulosic continuous filament yarns from the NMMO process are not yet being offered on a commercial scale.
