The fibre exhibition, Women with Clever Hands: Capuwiyak Miyalkurruwurr Gong Djambatjamla is a product of my working over a period of fifteen years with women from the Aboriginal community of Gapuwiyak in eastern Arnhem Land. It has been developed collaboratively with the Yolngu women and the Wagga Wagga Art Gallery.... The decision to actually produce the exhibition did not occur until 2006 but the relationships necessary for its beginning and completion started in 1995 when I made my first visit there in September.
