Revolution in the Making: Abstract Sculpture by Women 1947-2016

This is the catalogue of an exhibition presented by Hauser Wirth & Schimmel in Los Angeles, from13 March - 4 September 2016. The curators drew together works on loan from nearly 60 major museums, galleries, private collections and artists' estates in the USA and Europe, and included new sculptures commissioned for the exhibition. At first sight, a book about abstract sculpture might not seem to be particularly relevant to readers of Textile Fibre Forum, but the second half of the twentieth century was a period in which sculptors made increasing use of textiles techniques and materials. Women sculptors were a growing and very influential part of this movement.
