A new fabric to make better, cheaper bibs

Adult bibs that are used mainly in hospitals, nursing homes and homes for the elderly are generally prone to three problems — inability to withstand high temperature cleaning, low absorbency rate of the front side, and shrinkage. However, they no longer need to be a concern at all; the Institute of Textiles & Clothing (ITC) of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University has developed a new fabric that can remedy all the three problems. And adult bibs made of this new material are in use on trial basis in the elderly homes run by Caritas as well as in the service units of the Spastics Association of Hong Kong.
