STATUS OF BLARINA HYLOPHAGA (INSECTIVORA: SORICIDAE) IN NORTH TEXAS AND SOUTHERN OKLAHOMA

Cranial and mandibular measurements of Blarina hylophaga from Oklahoma and Texas were compared with specimens of Blarina brevicaudata from Michigan and Missouri and Blarina carolinensis from Georgia and Texas. The statistical analysis of these measurements are generally consistent with and support the currently known distributions of these three species of shrews. A discussion of the populations in Texas and Oklahoma is presented.
