Taylor County is located in the Rolling Plains of Texas, with an isolated outcropping of the Edwards Plateau in the southern half of the county. Located within the Kansan Biotic Province (Blair 1950), Taylor County is bordered by Jones, Shackleford, Callahan, Coleman, Runnels, Nolan and Fisher counties.
