摘要

Communication via satellite has remarkably progressed as new means of commercial communication. Satellite systems have special features like broadcast capability, distance independence, large propagation delays etc, which make this mode of communications quite distant from others like microwave and pptical fibre. Adequate care has to be taken while designing satellite links in order to avoid undue cost or complexicity. In this article, a simple formula is derived for finding out Satellite and Earth Station EIRPs (Effective Isotropic Radiated Powers), which form part of satellite link engineering for FM SCPC working.
