Broadband over Power Lines

摘要

BPL technology is a union of two applications in a single system, which holds great promise as a ubiquitous broadband solution that would offer a viable alternative to cable, digital subscriber line, fiber, and wireless broadband solutions. Additionally, BPL offers ability to employ intelligent power line networks that make use of SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) devices. In the present paper, BPL configuration and standards, its spectrum allocation, issues of interference, noise on the power line, and security concerns have been covered. Possible solutions have been also proposed in order to mitigate these issues.
