Net Neutrality, Spectrum Rollout Dominate CES Policy Talks; Cross-Device Apps Envisioned

Las Vegas — Whether the speaker was the chairman of the FCC, a member of Congress, a Capitol Hill staffer, or someone else involved in government telecom policy circles, audience members and moderators at the International Consumer Electronics Show wanted to know whether providers of new Internet services and applications could be confident of obtaining access to broadband pipes to end-users, and whether spectrum would be available to support all the new services and devices on display and on the drawing board. As for speakers from outside the policy arena during the Jan. 5-8 International CES, one common theme was an expectation that consumers would increasingly be able to access their media across multiple devices.
