The 2012 Democratic platform, adopted Sept. 4 at the party's convention in Charlotte, N.C., includes provisions that support Internet freedom, pledge to increase cybersecurity, call for the protection of U.S. intellectual property, and endorse policies aimed at promoting STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) education and retention.
