FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler has said that he expects that someone from "inside" government would head up a task force with the Justice Department to coordinate the agencies' reviews of the proposed Comcast Corp. acquisition of Time Warner Cable, Inc., if and when the companies actually file for regulatory and antitrust approval of the deal announced in February. Responding to reporters' questions after the Commission's March 31 meeting, Chairman Wheeler said that the FCC and Justice "have put together a task force on Comcast-Time Warner. We will bring in the necessary external help. We have not gone outside to find someone to run that task force. We'd rather have someone who is well experienced in the relevant issues."
