FirstNet Approves $82.1 Million Operations Budget for FY 2020

The First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet) recently approved an $82.1 million operations budget for fiscal year 2020 and $145.1 million budget for network reinvestment. During an approximately 30-minute meeting Aug. 15 held via teleconference and WebEx, the board also approved an FY 2020 reserve of $82.1 million. Its total FY 2020 resources include a $120 million payment from AT&T, Inc., its network partner; $143.3 million in brought-forward balances; and a one-time transfer of $46 million from the National Telecommunications and Information Aciministra-tion, which houses FirstNet. FY 2020 begins Oct. 1.
