摘要

Radiometric monitoring is a powerful tool for obtaining unique information about object's emissivity. This method does not require any sounding signal to be formed and radiated. The known types of radiometers do not provide a two-axis resolution when using wide-beam antennas. In this study, we consider a principle of radiometric imaging at short distances with a range-azimuth resolution. The principle is based on an interferometric radiometer and antennas with synthesized apertures. The paper includes a description of the suggested method of radiometric imaging, the experimental results obtained using a ground-based Ka-band noise radar with a synthetic aperture. The outcome of the study comprises the radiometric images of a test object and the proven ability of the equipment in question to detect thermal radiation. The obtained results can be implemented in security systems for detection of concealed objects.
