Future Fibre Technologies (FFT) Pty Ltd is a rapidly growing Australian company that has become a world leader in optical fibre sensor technology and has utilised this expertise to develop a suite of innovative security systems for protecting perimeters, pipelines and communications/IT networks. This article outlines how FFT has grown its business using its proprietary and patented technology, and is today exporting to a diverse customer base in a number of international markets. It also reviews the support provided to the company by the Australian Government, in particular that of Austrade assisting it to achieve its current and expanding export sales.
