Mel Ward AO, 1941-2010: One of the great leaders of twentieth-century telecommunications

Melvin Keith Ward was born in Mackay, Queensland on 12 December 1941. On 1 Octobern2010 he succumbed to cancer at his home in Jan Juc, on the coast of Victoria, surrounded bynhis wife Margaret, their three sons Geoff, Rick and Jonathan, and other members of his lovingnand close-knit family, including grandchildren.
