Vivodi To Launch First Triple-play In Underdeveloped Greece

Alternative operator Vivodi will introduce Greece's first commercial triple-play next month in a bid to undermine the country's incumbent OTE and pay-TV operators. Andreas Papaspyridis, director of commercial affairs at the operator, says the bundle of ADSL2+ internet access, VoIP and 1PTV will be priced at a discount and contain elements its competitors can't replicate, such as video-on-demand and exclusive international channels. The IPTV element will also help Vivodi target the unusually high number of households in Greece that do not have PCs. However, Papaspyridis expects the VoIP element to have a greater impact on the market, as it will allow consumers to stop taking PSTN line rental from OFE.
