Greece looks set to shed its broadband-laggard reputation, thanks to rapid DSL uptake and government plans for a wide-scale FTTH deployment.rnBroadband household penetration in Greece doubled in 2007 to 26.8% (see fig. 1), though it remains among the lowest in Western Europe.rnThe increase in penetration was driven by falling tariffs and the introduction of a workable local-loop-unbundling (LLU) offer from the incumbent, OTE, following intervention from the tele-coms regulator, the EETT.
