The CRS-1, announced at the end of May and scheduled to start shipping this month, is widely seen as Cisco's $500 million, 2, 300-lb response to Juniper Networks, which is now for the first time beating Cisco in the core router market for Asia Pacific, with 46.8% of the market as of Q1 this year, according to IDC.
