Cellphones soon could be the most common way people use the Internet, said research firm Ipsos Insight. Internet access by mobile phone already outpaces wireless access from notebook PCs in many places around the world, Ipsos said, and mobile browsing is showing “robust growth” in many markets, especially western Europe. Ipsos said 4 of 10 adults browse the Internet on their wireless handset in Japan, double the rate of 2003, while growth in N. America seems to be flattening.
