The FCC granted a slamming complaint against AT&T. The carrier enrolled a subscriber from Pulse Telecom "without obtaining authorization and verification," the order said. Although AT&T received the authorization through third-party verification, the verifier "asks whether the person on the call is authorized to make changes in your phone service." Switching carriers "differs from merely making changes to the customer's phone service," the FCC said. AT&T was told to pay Pulse 150 percent of charges it was paid. The commission said it granted similar complaints filed against eight other companies, including Verizon and Inmark.
