AT&T Rejected Expanded LTE Plans Before T-Mobile Deal

Top AT&T executives rejected a proposal this year from their marketing organization to nexpand the carrier’s LTE coverage goal beyond the current one of 80 percent of the U.S. npopulation before 2014. The decision was disclosing in an FCC filing on a recent meeting with nhigh-level commission aides. The company promised in March to expand its LTE to cover 97 npercent of Americans if its proposed purchase of T-Mobile is approved. The filing puts the ncost at $3.8 billion.
