The flash-based Nano was always the iPod for the middle-of-the-road users, but not so much anymore. Visually, it looks like the 5.5G full-size iPod got hit by a shrink ray. The chrome back cover is intact, as is the click wheel. You get all the functionality of the full size iPod, including video, games, and the smooth-scrolling coverflow. Holding the 50 gram featherweight in your hands, you can't help but think; how on earth did they manage to cram 8 GB, a high-res screen and a 20-hour battery in there? The screen is a bit too small for full-length movies—not to say that you can't get them in there, but shorter films will be easier on the eyes.
