UK-Israeli joint venture formed to make yarns from carbon nanotubes

A newly formed joint venture based in Israel is to attempt to produce industrial-scale yarns of carbon filaments using a process developed in the UK. Plasan Sasa Ltd, based at Kibbutz Sasa in Israel, and Q-Flo, a spin-out from the University of Cambridge, UK, will form the joint venture, which will be called TorTech Nano Fibers. The goal is to make yarns from carbon nanotubes that will be used to improve body armour and composite armour systems for vehicles.
