First-ever collection of stretchable warp-knitted lyocell fabrics

A German company has developed the first-ever collection of stretchable warp-knitted fabrics using a blend containing a lyocell yarn (Tencel), according to the machinery builder Karl Mayer Textilmaschinenenfabrik GmbH of Obertshausen, Germany. Neukirchen-based LETextile blends the Tencel yarn (made by Lenzing of Austria) with an elastane (Dorlastan Type V550 from Asahi Kasei of Tokyo, Japan) before using Karl Mayer's lace raschel and high-speed raschel machines (RSE series) to create soft, comfortable fabrics with a supple handle.
