Hybrid roving from PHP for mass-producing composites

A range of hybrid rovings for the automated, high-volume production of composite parts has been launched by PHP Fibers of Wuppertal, Germany. The rovings comprise continuous, aligned and twist-free glass fibres sandwiched between thermoplastic multifilaments PHP says that the highly compact rovings, called Enka TecTape, can be converted into composite parts in short cycle times owing to the thermoplastic fibres and the short flow path between the reinforcement and matrix.
