Alphabet Juice author Roy Blount a member of the American Heritage Dictionary Usage Panel. He is also a regular panelist on NPR's Wait, wait. Don't tell me! In addition, he was a staff writer for Sports illustrated and contributed to publications such as The New Yorker. He is also the author of more than 20 previous books covering subjects from the Pittsburgh Steelers to Robert E. Lee. His unique and witty voice comes through clearly in this book. The book is arranged in alphabetical order, as would a dictionary. For each entry Blount gives comments on items that he finds worthy of thought. For example, Blount includes the entries arguably, e-mail, limerick, mnemonic, split infinitive, verb, well, and zoology.
