摘要

Photosynthetic CO_2 assimilation in the shoots and leaves of lilac in July and in April is compared. It was demonstrated that CO_2 assimilation in leaves is many times higher that in shoots. CO_2 assimilation in shoots decreases with their increasing age; in April they are also photosynthetically active. The photosynthetic production of oxygen by chloroplasts isolated from the shoots and leaves was also compared. Oxygen production by chloroplasts isolated from bark decreases with the age of the shoots. Chloroplasts from leaves release more oxygen than do those from bark. In April the activity of chloroplasts from bark is higher than in July. It was demonstrated that the potential possibilities of photosynthesis by chloroplasts are greater that the results of CO_2 assimilation measurements.
