The forest management, associated up to now with raw wood supplies, is treated still more frequently by the society also as a subject that should safeguard a suitable amount and quality of all forest goods, generally and freely accessible, brought in by functions that are defined as by-production ones. The increase of the role and importance of these functions will have a deciding influence on the way in which the future forest economy is function-ning, becoming the base of its existence. Unfortunately as for now by-production functions of forest are free accessible, and this proceeds in this way due to treating them as public goods or marginal effects. In such circumstances it is necessary to search for methods of assessing the economic value of, if not all then at least some selected by-production functions used by humans in the most intensive way. Here recreation function belongs, for which two methods of assessing the economic value, used most often, are as follows: TCM - Travel Cost Method - in which the value of natural environment goods, most often of goods connected with the recreation function of forest is defined on the basis of necessary inputs born by customer for consumption (inputs for travel and staying costs). The Marshall rent is the theoretical basis for measuring the value. CVM - Contingent Valuation Method — it makes possible to know individual (customers and/or his/her family) preferences toward non-market environmental goods and assessing their value in monetary units using the WTP (Willingness To Pay) measure or the WTA (Willingness To Accept) measure - readiness of accepting a compensation. The method uses the Hicks rent as theoretical measures.
