Utilité d'un système d'information à référence spatiale pour un domaine agricole expérimental

Afin de gérer de manière rationnelle les informations liées au domaine expérimental de La Frêtaz, un système d'information à référence spatiale, composé des logiciels Maplnfo et Access, a été développé. Access permet de gérer le grand nombre et la diversité des informations, alors que Maplnfo gère les descriptions graphiques. Maplnfo permet en particulier l'élaboration de cartes thématiques. La visualisation des résultats en est ainsi facilitée. L'article décrit tout d'abord la démarche de conception d'un système d'information à référence spatiale, puis illustre, par deux exemples, son potentiel d'application. Enfin, les avantages et les difficultés d'un tel système sont discutés.%In order to manage rationally informations collected on the experimental farm of La Fretaz, a Geographic Information System was developed with «MapInfo» and «Access» softwares. «Access» manages the great number and diversity of informations, whereas «MapInfo» manages graphical descriptions. Furthermore «MapInfo» allows to create thematic maps to enhance the visualisation of the results. This paper describes in a first part the development of a Geographic Information System. In a second part, GIS potential is illustrated with the help of two examples. Finally, the advantages and difficulties of the system are discussed.
