Monier expands solar thermal business

In its beginning solar heat was a local market. Today the solar thermal market is getting more and more international. A good example is the Monier Group, witch serves over a dozen markets with its solar therma products.rnThe Monier Group, a company with offices in 46 countries, has strengthened its solar thermal business. "We already serve clients with solar water heating systems in more than twelve different countries, with more to come", says Christian Pohl. In his new position as Director Business Line Solar, Pohl is responsible for the worldwide solar thermal and photovoltiacs activities of the Monier Group. Monier is a leading provider of building materials for pitched roofs, chimney and ventilation systems. In 2008, 11,155 employees generated a turnover of around € 1.5 billion. Since it was divested by Lafarge Group in 2007, Monier acts as an independent company. Today its shareholders are institutional investors and banks.
