The world of solar process heat

Some 37 companies from ten countries participated in our survey to establish the first world map of concentrated process heat collectors. India and the Middle East are primary regions, while the food industry is the chief segment. Solar heat at medium temperatures is a growing market. Temperatures of between 100 and 250 ℃ don't just increase the potential usage of solar heat, but also make its integration easier. They allow both direct integration of solar heat into low temperature process and feeding it into steam grids that supply entire factories with heat. Based on a detailed questionnaire, Solrico and SUN &WIND ENERGY asked more than 50 manufacturers of process heat collectors about development status, technical product data, projects and their assessment of the market. There are 36 companies listed on the world map (page 41). The world map aims at obtaining an overview of collector technology and the companies that operate in the field. The criteria for the selection of the participating companies are explained on page 45.
