I've owned three studios over the past 26 years, in the Medford and Cherry Hill areas of New Jersey and now in Chandler, Arizona, where we moved in 2000. We focus primarily on portrait and wedding business. It takes years to build up a clientele that eventually leads to the high-paying Greek, Italian, and Jewish wedding market. I offered free engagement photo sessions for any wedding I was doing. Clients would pay for any photos from the session, but the session was a way of getting referrals, since they would be rewarded with discounts on their wedding photos if they referred someone. We also gave them a folio to show to their future bridal party and guests, and we told them we'd take portraits of guests at the reception.
