TYPICAL CONSTRUCTION PRACTICES FOR TALL BUILDINGS IN TAIWAN

摘要

Our evaluation of prevalent construction practice in Taiwan revealed several configuration issues and a serious and systemic lack of attention to established seismic design and construction procedures for reinforced concrete buildings. Steel construction, on the other hand, seemed to enjoy better quality control and more detailed attention to seismic design and construction requirements. This paper presents and overview of common deficiencies observed in design and construction practices for tall buildings in Taiwan.
