Tall buildings and more complex building projects require close coordination between the design team members. The relationship between the geotechnical and structural engineers is a key to successful cooperation and execution of the design and construction of the project. There must be good communication between these professionals and it cannot be denied that the more information each knows from the other is very helpful to formulate the proper and most economical and buildable design, and to manage and mitigate the great risks associated with the design and construction industry. Cooperation and communication between the geotechnical and structural engineers are mutually beneficial as these things work together to reduce the risks that each faces in the course of doing the business of engineering.
