Council and Steering Committee - decisions taken in Budapest May 2005

As usual during the first meeting of the year, the Council had to deal with all aspects of fib's finances. The Honorary Treasurer, Hans-Ulrich Litzner, reported on the balance and final accounts for 2004, closing with a deficit of about 42 000 CHF. The accounts were approved, the loss was mainly due to decreasing support from the national groups (statutory membership) and to decreasing income from interests. This could not be compensated by increasing the income from other membership categories. Also approved was the draft budget for 2005 that foresees that about 120 000 CHF will have to be taken from the reserves to balance budgeted income and expenses.
